A tropical depression formed yesterday west of the Marianas and is expected to intensify into a tropical storm early this morning, Wednesday.
As of 7pm Tuesday, the center of Tropical Depression 29W was 860 miles west of Saipan, 815 miles west-northwest of Guam, and 555 miles northwest of Yap.
The tropical depression is slowly moving farther away from the Marianas.
According to the U.S. National Weather Service, Tropical Depression 29W is moving west-northwest at 13 miles per hour and packs 30 miles per hour of maximum sustained winds.
By Thursday afternoon, the tropical depression is expected to intensify into a typhoon prior to reaching near northern Luzon in the Philippines.
