The M-League returned to action at the Oleai Sports Complex Field last week after cancelling games for nearly two weeks due to the inclement weather.
Sun Palace FC and the CNMI Women’s National Team resumed play in Division 2 of the fall season of the league with the former notching a 2-0 victory on Oct. 23.
Both teams failed to score in the first half of the match before Sun Palace drew one goal apiece from Ho Jin Woo and Yong Chui Jang to edge its foe. Irish Pagarao made the lone goal for the CNMI Women’s National Team.
In another Division 2 game last week, Shirley’s FC and the Thundercats had a draw, 1-1.
Ariel Jinang put Shirley’s FC in the scoreboard and on top of the first half after finding the back of the net in the 25th minute. Shirley’s FC hung on to the lead in the opening minutes of the second half before Don Cabrera made the equalizer and save the Thundercats from absorbing a loss.
Before settling for a draw against Shirley’s FC, the Thundercats came from a 4-0 demolition of the CNMI
Women’s National Team on Oct. 9. Makani Gramlich drilled a pair of goals in the victory, while Angelo Guevarra and Jordan Butcher added one goal apiece.
Makani drew first blood for the Thundercats, while Butcher made it a 2-0 lead at halftime. Gramlich started the scoring anew for the Thundercats in the second half, while Gueverra earned the last goal for the squad.
Meanwhile, games in the Division 1 of the M-League were played last Sunday, but the official match reports have yet to be turned in at press time. (Roselyn B. Monroyo)
