Dynamic Airways launched direct air service between Saipan, Northern Mariana Islands and Seoul, Korea on Oct. 30, 2013. Dynamic Airways will fly twice weekly on Wednesday and Saturdays, operating 767-200s, which have a seat capacity of 218.
“We’re very excited about the launch of direct flights by Dynamic Airways to Seoul from the Northern Marianas , as we are already forecasting growth in Korean tourist arrivals this fiscal year,” said Marianas Visitors Authority marketing manager Bruce Bateman. “We look forward to a mutually beneficial partnership with Dynamic Airways in bringing more visitors to the beautiful Northern Marianas not to mention the millions of dollars these new visitors bring into the economy of Saipan, Tinian and Rota. We are doubly pleased that Dynamic has chosen to base their planes here in the NMI.”
The inaugural flight was launched with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in Incheon Airport, led by Kevin Lee, executive vice president of Dynamic Airways. Also attending were representatives of the Bureau of Diplomatic Security at the U.S. Embassy in Seoul, Incheon Airport, WIN Air, and the MVA office in Korea.
Arriving passengers on the inaugural flight were welcomed in Saipan by the MVA with shell leis.
In fiscal year 2013, the Northern Marianas received over 135,000 visitors from Korea. (MVA)
