Shirley’s FC maintained its perfect mark in the girls U15 division of the 2013 NMIFA Youth Fall League after routing MP United FC, 6-1, last Saturday at the Hopwood Junior High School Field.
The win was the fourth in as many games for Shirley’s FC and second against MP United FC. Diana Maniacop and De Jana Muna scored two goals apiece in the easy victory, while Samantha Manacop and Kartina Costales chipped in one each.
Manacop was the first one to break into the scoreboard for Shirley’s FC, as she nailed a goal in the 16th minute. MP United then briefly tied the match off Maureen Faye Doculan’s goal nine minutes later before Shirley’s FC took the lead anew, 2-1, with Manacop getting her first goal at the 32nd minute.
It was all Shirley’s FC from thereon, as the division leader made it to the board early in the second half with Costales earning her first goal right into the second minute of the final half and Maniacop posting her second two minutes late. Muna then closed out the game with back-to-back goals in the 56th and 58th minute.
Matansa FC 1, Tan Holdings FC 1
In the first game in the girls U15 division, Tan Holdings forced a draw against Matansa after scoring the equalizer in the second half.
Matansa took the lead in the first 45 minutes of play after Maile Aldrich found the back of the net in the 34th minute. Matansa hung on to the shaky advantage in the opening 15 minutes of the second half before Mary Kay Alferos dropped the game-tying goal in the 61st minute. Both teams remained aggressive on offense in the remaining minutes in the second half, but failed to score anew to settle for the draw.
MP United 6, Shirley’s FC 0
In the second boys U15 match last Friday at the Oleai Sports Complex, it was MP United FC’s turn to clobber Shirley’s FC.
MP United had a consistent offense in the first and second halves to ease past Shirley’s FC and gain its fourth win of the season. Amir Abes drilled back-to-back goals (4th minute and 19th minute) to heat up MP United’s engine, while Wesley Poiroux converted the last goal in the first half (27th minute).
Sun Joon Tenorio made it a 4-0 count for MP United with his goal in the 51st minute, while David Kim and Bada Lee registered the last two goals, scoring in the 73rd and 78th, respectively.
In the other game in the boys U15, Matansa FC and Tan Holdings FC engaged in a scoreless draw.
MP United 10, Paire 0
MP United was also unstoppable in the boys U18 game last Saturday, as it walloped Paire.
Jehn Joyner reported back for duty after seeing action in the Pilipinas Cup 2013 and announced his return to the league by scoring two goals. Kyke Chung also contributed two goals for MP United, which got the six other goals from Tanapon Unsa, Sung Bae Park, Enrico Del Rosario, Namki Kim, Greg Sablan, and Brian Lee.
