Washington, D.C.—Delegate Madeleine Z. Bordallo (D-GU) announced Friday that the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Housing Service has awarded $50,000 to the Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Agaña, which provides services locally as Catholic Social Services.
Rural Development funds will be used to repair and rehabilitate an eight unit apartment complex for housing of very low income elderly, individuals with disabilities and families.
“I commend Catholic Social Services for their efforts in obtaining this grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture,” said Bordallo. “These funds will go toward repairing and restoring a housing complex that shelter for our island’s elderly and individuals with disabilities. I appreciate the efforts of Catholic Social Services and other non-profits on Guam in looking after our most underserved in the community. I look forward to the use of these funds by Catholic Social Services in maintaining this facility for years to come.” (PR)
