With only two contestants signing up for its planned “Kalokalike” competition for this year’s Paskong Pinoy, the United Filipino Organization has decided to scrap the competition and in its place another popular segment from ABC-CBN’s popular variety TV show “Showtime.”
“Until now we only got two contestant who registered for ‘Kalokalike,’ so we will try another contest and that’s ‘That’s My Tomboy’ and hopefully we can get at least six contestants since that contest is very popular on Showtime,” said UFO president Annamae Adaza.
To sweeten the pot, Adaza said UFO has put up a total prize money of $1,000: $500 for first place, $300 for second place, and $200 for third place.
The mechanics of “That’s My Tomboy” is very simple—contestants only have to introduce themselves and then perform a talent.
“That’s My Boy” on Showtime is on channel 22. It features androgynous-looking women or lesbians who look and dress like men.
UFO’s 2013 Paskong Pinoy event is slated on Dec. 14, from 2pm to 10pm, at the Garapan Central Park.
The 2013 Paskong Pinoy will have a lantern-making contest and a Christmas singing competition for adults and children.
UFO will also be offering several children’s games, raffle drawings, and Philippine cultural dances.
Docomo Pacific is the major sponsor for Paskong Pinoy this year.
