Registration starts at 8am and will continue until 10am.

People who would like to avail of the blood sugar tests are advised to fast—to refrain from eating and drinking liquids preferably 12 hours or at least two hours prior to the actual testing.

“This is the first free health screening for the year 2014 that USP4GG will be hosting. Screening several key vital metrics include blood pressure, blood sugar, weight, height and BMI. Free health screening events help members of our community take charge of their health. Further, this free health screening signifies a gesture of our heartfelt gratitude and sincere appreciation to the CNMI and friends who expressed and showed their compassion, care, help, and concern for the victims of the Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines,” said Dr. Celia Lamkin, chairperson of USP4GG Marianas Chapter and founding member, board member, and secretary of the Global Filipino Diaspora Council.

Brochures and Information on disease prevention such as hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes, stroke, coronary heart disease, signs and symptoms of a heart attack, among others, will be distributed at the health screening site for free. Fact sheets about peripheral arterial disease, asthma, high blood pressure in children, guides to a healthy heart, healthy weight, healthy sleep, living well with heart disease, lowering blood pressure and cholesterol, among others, will also be distributed to participants.

"The public is invited to participate regardless of ethnicity, citizenship, religion, and nationality. I wish everyone a healthy and a happy New Year," added Lamkin.
