MONROYO) Korean Football Association on Saipan withstood Tan Holdings FC’s second half rally to save a 4-3 win in the M-League last Sunday at the Oleai Sports Complex Field.

KFAS held Tan Holdings scoreless in the last nine minutes of the match to preserve the victory. Tan Holdings FC failed to convert the needed one goal to extend the game despite having the momentum in the final half off Joe Miller’s relentless attack.

Miller scored all of Tan Holdings FC’s three goals with his first goal coming in at the 55th minute and moving the team within one, 1-3. KFAS took a 3-0 halftime lead after drawing goals from three different players in the first half. Jun Woo Lee found the back of the net first for KFAS with his goal in the eighth minute, while the second was courtesy of Sang Ho Choi’s shot in the 35th. Then just one minute before the first half wrapped up, Chang Koo Gil scored, too, to give KFAS more cushion.

Pressured to hit successive goals to catch up, Tan Holdings FC looked for its main man, Miller, and he responded to the challenge, earning another goal in the 64th minute. Miller’s second came five minutes after KFAS gained its fourth goal to bring the gap back to 3. Lee handed KFAS the insurance goal in the 59th.

The deficit was then sliced down to two anew with Miller completing a hat-trick in the 81st. However, that was also the last goal of Tan Holdings FC, as KFAS picked up its defense and Miller became a marked man in the remaining minutes of the match.
In the two other games last Sunday, Shirley’s FC and Inter Godfather notched victories in contrasting fashions.

Inter Godfather’s eked out a 1-0 win over MP United. Thanks to Ryu Tanzawa’s late goal in the first half.

Both teams struggled offensively in the majority of the match before Tanzawa scored the lone goal in the game in the 44th minute.
While Inter Godfather’s and MP United had a hard time searching for the elusive goal, Shirley’s FC had no problems in hitting its target, cruising to a 7-0 victory over the Women’s National Team. Kosuke Sato drilled five goals for Shirley’s while Louis Ryu Hoin logged the two others.
