Torres sworn into NMI District Court

Also in the photo is Chief Justice Alexandro Castro (far left), and Priscilla and William Torres (far right) flanked by other family members and friends. Nicole M. Torres was sworn earlier this week to the District Court for the Northern Mariana Islands by Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona. Torres, who was admitted to the NMI Bar in October 2013, will now be able to practice in the CNMI’s federal court.

"I am honored to be sworn in to the District Court for the Northern Mariana Islands, and look forward to serving the people of the NMI in a broader capacity,” she told the Saipan Tribune.

Torres earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of San Francisco and her juris doctor degree from the University of Hawaii, Richardson School of Law.

Torres, a proud alumna of Saipan’s Grace Christian Academy, hopes that local high school students stay focused and pursue their dreams—as she did.

Torres considers this as taking “the next step” as an attorney in the CNMI.

She is the daughter of William and Priscilla Torres.
