SBA holds season-opening tournament Sunday

Saipan Bowling Association will hold its first tournament of the season this Sunday at the Saipan Bowling Center.

The SBA Budweiser King and Queen of the Lanes January roll-offs will have its first day of the tournament on Sunday, beginning at 3:30pm, while Monday’s event will start at 6pm. Bowlers are allowed to compete in both days, but only the higher score will be counted. Participants must also pay the SBA annual membership fee of $15.

Only the first 50 bowlers to register will be allowed to play in each day of the tournament. Cash prizes will be given away in the men’s division and the amount will depend on the number of entries. The women’s division will have cash prizes provided there are 10 entries in the field. Entry fee for both men’s and women’s division is only $15.

Meanwhile, SBA will also have the youth competition, which is open for bowlers in the 12 to 18 age group. The contest will only take place this Sunday with an entrance fee of $10 and another $10 for the membership fee.

For early registration and payment, contact Gigi or Ross Zapanta at 288 5627 or send email to zapanta@pticom.com. (SBA)
