Walk for a cause this Saturday by joining the 6th Annual JP and Diabetes Awareness Walk that starts at Beach Road Pavilion across the JP Center all the way to the Susupe Beach Park.
Registration starts at 5am and ends at 6am. The fee is $5 and all proceeds will benefit the Marianas March Against Caner Foundation.
Refreshments will be available at the Susupe Beach Park finish line. There will also be a raffle, with prizes that include one round-trip ticket for two to Guam with free hotel accommodations for two nights and lots more.
There will also be a free blood sugar and blood pressure testing by Northern Marianas College Nursing Club volunteers.
The three-mile walk from the pavilion to Susupe Beach Park will be held in honor and in dedication to the memory of former Tan Holdings executive John “JP” Pangelinan.
“It’s a walk that I have participated since it first started to honor our former publisher [Pangelinan], and to bond with my colleagues while exercising at the same time,” said Jayvee Vallejera, editor for Saipan Tribune.
Saipan Tribune publisher Eli Arago said, “This is the sixth year and we want to commemorate our former executive. And this year we want to make innovations that include the diabetes awareness screening. Our president, Jerry Tan, is supportive of his employees to be productive and also wants to make the community aware of the walk that will benefit the MMAC.”
Contact email@example.com to register via email. Registration forms may also be picked up at the Saipan Tribune office or at the registration venue.
Last year 300-plus walkers joined the event during which over $2,000 was raised.
