Guam's Ofeciar laid to rest Saturday

PITI, Guam-Guam's highest-ranking military officer to have died in Afghanistan U.S. Army Major Henry San Nicolas Ofeciar was laid to rest at the Veteran's Cemetery in Piti last Saturday with full military honors.

Major Ofeciar was killed after his unit was ambushed on Aug. 27 while fighting the war on terror. The funeral started at San Miguel in the southern village of Talofofo where thousands paid their last respect to a fallen hero, followed by Mass of a Christian burial then the military burial.

The son of Pedro Ofeciar and Agnes Rillera, Henry is survived by his wife of nine months, Angali Medappa.
