Samoa at Asia-Pacific volunteers meeting

A member of the Samoa International Volunteer Day Organizing Committee, Sala Vaimili II, left the country for Bangladesh. He is representing Samoa in a three-day meeting to discuss the preparations for the International Year of Volunteers scheduled for 2001.

Apia (Samoa Observer/PINA Nius Online) – A member of the Samoa International Volunteer Day Organizing Committee, Sala Vaimili II, left the country for Bangladesh. He is representing Samoa in a three-day meeting to discuss the preparations for the International Year of Volunteers scheduled for 2001.

Samoa, together with other Pacific Countries which have been able to set up National Committees to help with this years Volunteer Day celebrations, are meeting with Asian countries to monitor the progress made by each committee.

Sala is expected to speak on Samoa’s preparations, as well as delivering a brief report on the role of volunteers in Samoa.
