MAN CHARGED FOR DISTURBING 7 PERSONS
A man is facing criminal charges for assaulting a woman and disturbing six other persons.
The Attorney General’s Office filed with the Superior Court assault and battery and seven counts of disturbing the peace charges against 33-year-old Jeffrey Turbitt of Chalan Kanoa.
Turbitt allegedly works as a teacher, but the criminal information against him did not specify his profession.
CNMI chief prosecutor Jeffrey Moots accused Turbitt of assaulting a woman on Saipan last March 13. Turbitt allegedly disturbed the peace of that woman and four others, as well as two men.
The court summoned Turbitt to appear before it on July 5.
SEX WITH GIRL, 15, PUTS MAN IN TROUBLE
A man is in hot water for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old girl more than two years ago.
The Attorney General’s Office charged Roman V. Cabrera with sexual abuse of a child in the third degree in a document filed with the Superior Court last Friday.
Cabrera, a 31-year-old San Antonio resident, allegedly had sex with the girl on Saipan sometime in March 2003.
The girl was only 15 years old when the incident happened two years ago, the AGO said.
DOMESTIC ABUSE RAPS VS. 3 MEN
The Attorney General’s Office charged three men of abusing a woman in separate criminal cases that were filed at the Superior Court Friday.
One of the defendants, MD. Kazim Uddin, allegedly assaulted a woman with a knife, struck her with a belt and pulled her hair. The 35-year-old resident of Chalan Laulau allegedly attacked the woman last May 2 on Saipan.
CNMI chief prosecutor Jeffrey Moots charged Uddin with assault with a dangerous weapon and two counts of assault and battery.
Moots also charged one Daniel Asare Mensah with two counts of assault and battery. Mensah, 25, of Capitol Hill, allegedly struck another woman with his fist and a cellular phone unit on May 25 on Saipan.
The prosecutor lodged a count of aggravated assault and battery against Frank H. Ramangmou, a 37-year-old resident of Susupe. Ramangmou allegedly assaulted another woman on Saipan last April 13.
The court summoned the three men to appear before it on July 5. (John Ravelo)
