{"id":10036,"date":"2011-12-28T03:14:39","date_gmt":"2011-12-28T03:14:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/newspaper.ctsi-logistics.com\/?p=10036"},"modified":"2011-12-28T03:14:39","modified_gmt":"2011-12-28T03:14:39","slug":"mochitsuki-festival-to-ring-in-new-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/mochitsuki-festival-to-ring-in-new-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Mochitsuki Festival to ring in New Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>By Clarissa David<br \/>\nReporter<\/div>\n<p>The non-profit group PDM Promoters, Inc. will be welcoming the New Year the Japanese way by hosting the Mochitsuki Festival at Paseo de Marianas in Garapan on Dec. 29.<\/p>\n<p>Sonia Siwa of PDM Promoters said this year marks the third celebration of the festival highlighted by the making of mochi, a Japanese rice cake made of glutinous rice, pounded into a paste and molded into different shapes.
