Ada Gymnasium will soon be covered with a work of art.<\/p>\n<p>This as local artist Luis Ogo and his crew are working on painting a mural of athletes in various sporting events.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview yesterday, Ogo explained that the mural will feature various sports such as athletics, swimming, canoeing, football, and baseball, among many others.<\/p>\n<p>His crew includes V.J. Barcinas, Epi Cabrera, Jay Sanchez, Dexter Mendiola, and Jack Camacho.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is very rewarding,\u201d Ogo said of having the opportunity to showcase his and each member of his crew\u2019s talent. \u201cIt\u2019s the first time ever for us, and we\u2019re just looking to make a contribution to the CNMI for the Micro Games. We\u2019re doing this not only for ourselves, but for the community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The project, which began on May 1, is in its early phase as the crew is currently painting the wall sky blue, which will serve as the background. <\/p>\n<p>Ogo expects to begin painting the sport figures in three days, and should be completed by the end of the month.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a way for us to expose our art and talent to the community, while also beatifying the area,\u201d Ogo said. \u201cWe\u2019re trying to promote the local artists. There are a lot of local people out there with talent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Much work still has to be done, however, Ogo is confident his crew will be able to complete the project in time.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re looking at working during the day and even at night,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The project is sponsored by the Council for Arts and Culture.<\/p>\n<p>Over 1,400 athletes, coaches, and officials from the region are expected to compete in the Micro Games, which will be held on Saipan from June 23 to July 2.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The high-rising wall on the western part of the Gilbert C.
