{"id":100728,"date":"2006-05-16T08:08:00","date_gmt":"2006-05-16T08:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/a74124d0-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2006-05-16T08:08:00","modified_gmt":"2006-05-16T08:08:00","slug":"a74124e0-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/a74124e0-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"G-I, Saints close strong in NYBA 14-and-under"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Garapan Rollers I and House of Manhoben Saints gave their fans much to cheer about Monday night at the Garapan Basketball Court, posting successful performances in the ongoing NYBA cage league.<\/p>\n<p>The two 14-and-under division teams dominated and were able to win with ease to close the regular season strong.<\/p>\n<p>In the opener, three cagers scored in doubles figures to lead the Saints to a 53-37 victory over the G-Rollers II.<\/p>\n<p>Vince Iglecias scored 10 straight points for his team at one point in the game and finished with a game-high 17 points, while Nick Reyes scored 11 of his 13 points in the second half to lead the CTSI Logistics-backed Saints. Nikko Masga also had a solid outing as he poured in 10 points, also hitting a 3-pointer late in the game.<\/p>\n<p>Jomar Danas led the G-Rollers II with eight points, while Derek Abraham and Jason Palacios pumped in seven and six points in support.<\/p>\n<p>Later in the evening, the G-Rollers I has a fiesta and scored a 44-15 victory over the Matansa Sparks.<\/p>\n<p>The G-Rollers controlled the bout from beginning to end, dominating the boards both offensively and defensively, and making quick transitions for fast break points.<\/p>\n<p>Zack Tudela led a balanced scoring attack with 10 points, while cage belle Nicole Lebria finished with seven points as 10 players managed to score at least a bucket.<\/p>\n<p>Mark Sablan and David Jones led the Sparks with five and four points.<\/p>\n<p>The G-Rollers I did not lose a game all season long and will play the Sparks again this Friday in the semifinals, while the Saints and G-Rollers II will battle again in the other half of the semis.<\/p>\n<p>The G-I crew won the pennant in the 16-and-under division and will face the Sparks II in the playoffs. G-II will take on the Sparks I, while the Saints will face G-III. Playoffs in the division kicks off this evening at the Garapan court.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the 12-and-under crown will be earned on Monday as G-I and G-II face off for the title.<\/p>\n<p>First Game<\/p>\n<p>Saints 53 \u2013 Iglecias 17, N.
