Another week in the National Football League provided a few exciting finishes and a totally dominating win by the Chicago Bears over the pathetic San Francisco 49ers in the Windy City.<\/p>\n
Unlike their miracle comeback over the Arizona Cardinals, Da Bears did it with offense as Rex Grossman and company racked up a 41-0 lead in the first half. They didn\u2019t need to do much else after that as they held on to the 41-10 victory to remain undefeated in the black and blue division. <\/p>\n
With only 98 yards of total offense, the Oakland Raiders won as well but they could learn a few things from the Bears because second-year quarterback Andre Walker only managed 51 yards through the air and converted only one third down all game. The numbers were truly pitiful but the silver and black received plenty of help from Super Bowl XL\u2019s winning quarterback. <\/p>\n
Ben Roethlis-berger didn\u2019t help the Steelers as much as he hurt them on the road with one touchdown and four interceptions\u2014two of which went the other way for Oakland touchdowns.<\/p>\n
Big Ben didn\u2019t look like much of a quarterback, but Michael Vick finally did with a standout performance against the Bengals in Cincy. Vick didn\u2019t rely on his legs to get the Falcons the road win as he passed for 291 yards and three touchdowns for his second week of strong play from the pocket.<\/p>\n
He is amazing when he wants to be, but he is still consistently inconsistent. Not so for kicker Adam Vinatieri, as Mister Reliable booted a game-winning field goal to extend the Indianapolis Colts\u2019 unbeaten streak to seven games.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s no secret that Peyton Manning and the Colts have a potent offense but it remains a mystery why the New England Patriots let the kicker go. This guy just doesn\u2019t miss. In his best year since 2004, Vinatieri is still perfect and he hit on all four attempts over the weekend. <\/p>\n
The guy is just plain good, much like Manning, who completed 32-of-39 passes for 345 yards and three touchdowns\u2014all to Reggie Wayne. It\u2019s a good thing the Colts decided to keep Wayne, and rookie running back Joseph Addai is establishing himself as the Colts\u2019 go-to guy on the ground as he picked up 93 yards on 17 caries in Denver.<\/p>\n
Last time around Kelly Butcher spanked her counterparts on the local prognosticator scene but she managed a mediocre 7-7 finish slipped to just one game ahead of Sue \u201cPowder Puff\u201d Knecht (65-49) and the Lil\u2019 Mahi (65-49) overall at 66-48.<\/p>\n
Knecht and Keith Nabors each bagged the weekly honors with matching 9-5 records, but the big linebacker from Tinian could have had sole possession of the title if he would have picked Chicago over the Niners. Yeah, like that was a close one. Nabors is still in fourth place at 68-46, but he is still within range of Will Hunter (72-42), and Cramer (74-40). John Blanco still has the overall lead at 77-37, and he kept pace with his closest competitors with an 8-6 finish last week, along with Hunter, the Lil\u2019 Mahi, and Cramer.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
