{"id":105773,"date":"2006-11-04T20:12:00","date_gmt":"2006-11-04T20:12:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/a98dff1a-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2006-11-04T20:12:00","modified_gmt":"2006-11-04T20:12:00","slug":"a98dff2a-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/a98dff2a-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Roberts named MVP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Whispering Palms School Terns won back-to-back sets over Saipan Community School to take the Private Schools Indoor Volleyball League Junior Varsity championship and Amber Roberts was named as the tournament\u2019s most valuable player. <\/p>\n<p>While the players and coaches voted their team representatives among themselves, Roberts didn\u2019t know she would win the honor until her name was called by league coordinator Scott Norman.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt feels good. I wasn\u2019t expecting it. I was kind of surprised,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Roberts played strong on the Oleai Sports Complex hard courts but said she shed plans to transition to the sand courts behind the Pacific Islands Club during the Northern Mariana Islands Volleyball Association\u2019s beach volleyball qualifier for the Pacific Games.   <\/p>\n<p>The talented youngster won\u2019t stop there as she still has a bunch of soccer and swimming on her mind, but there is still one more 6-on-6 challenge ahead for the students.<\/p>\n<p>By getting recognized as the league\u2019s MVP, Roberts earned a slot on the all-star team that will challenge the coaches on Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.
