{"id":106735,"date":"2006-12-05T20:56:00","date_gmt":"2006-12-05T20:56:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/a9deb40a-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2006-12-05T20:56:00","modified_gmt":"2006-12-05T20:56:00","slug":"a9deb41d-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/a9deb41d-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"DCCA still atop the heap"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Community and Cultural Affairs extended its winning streak to five games Monday night when they shutout the CPA Ports Police, 10-0, under the lights at Miguel \u201cTan Ge\u201d Basa Softball Field in continuation of the Inter-Government Men\u2019s Slow-Pitch Softball League.<\/p>\n<p>Pitcher Mel Sakisat went the distance once again and limited the boys in blue to just three hits through five innings and aided his cause at the plate with a sterling 3-for-3 outing that generated a pair of singles, a three-run home run, and five runs batted in.<\/p>\n<p>Sakisat brought home the bacon and fried it in the pan but wasn\u2019t the only one working his mojo in the batter\u2019s box as shortstopper Ben Tagabuel went 3-for-3 with two singles and a two-bagger, while third baseman Pete Tomokane\u2019s lone hit came off of a solo home run in the top of a five-run second inning.<\/p>\n<p>The defending champions remain the only undefeated team in the men\u2019s league and captain John Reyes and the boys are firing on all cylinders early in the season.<\/p>\n<p>No Zone 12, CHC 2<\/p>\n<p>Despite all of the billboards, bumper stickers, and commercials, the Commonwealth Health Center got caught in the No Zone as the second place club racked up another 10-run mercy rule victory at Tan Ge by slaying the surgeons, 12-2.<\/p>\n<p>Third baseman Manny Sablan continued to pad his stats with a solid 2-for-3 performance at the plate that drove in three runs off of an RBI single and two-run homer while outfielder Mike Landon went 2-for-2 with a base hit and RBI double in an abbreviated appearance at the ballpark.<\/p>\n<p>Jerry Ayuyu was just a single shy of hitting for the cycle and drove in three runs off of a double, triple, and solo home run.<\/p>\n<p>DEQ 29, DPW 20<\/p>\n<p>The Department of Public Works blew a seven-run lead in the bottom of the sixth inning when the Department of Environmental Quality turned the tables with a 16-runs rally to earn its second win of the season.<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of their competitors 20-13 though five and a half innings, everything was going well for DPW until the bottom of the sixth started when Elmer Sablan reached base on an error.<\/p>\n<p>Things went downhill from there as DPW allowed 11 runs before recording the first out en route to allowing 16 runs off of 14 hits in the innings.<\/p>\n<p>Sablan finished the game 4-for-5 with five runs batted in off of a pair of singles and doubles while fellow infielder Melvin Castro went 4-for-5 with three base hits, a double, and two ribbies.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Community and Cultural Affairs extended its winning streak to five games Monday night when they shutout the CPA Ports Police, 10-0, under the lights at Miguel \u201cTan Ge\u201d Basa Softball Field in continuation of the Inter-Government Men\u2019s Slow-Pitch Softball League.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-106735","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-local-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/106735","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=106735"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/106735\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=106735"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=106735"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=106735"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
