Calma, however, took home the final monthly ace of the club for this year as Fil-Taga rules stipulate that players could only win once in a calendar year.<\/p>\n<p>The winning score had Calma swing for a day\u2019s third-best gross score of 84, which minus his 15 handicap, gave him a pristine score of three-under par 72.<\/p>\n<p>The 13-handicap Miranda, for his part, accounted for the tournament\u2019s second-best gross score of 82.<\/p>\n<p>Edgar Abalos had the December Ace\u2019s lowest gross score after besting Miranda by a stroke with his 81. The 11-handicap golfer, however had to settle for the day\u2019s third-best net score with his 70.<\/p>\n<p>Fil-Taga president Jun \u201cTiger\u201d Dela Cruz, Senate Majority Leader Sen. Pete Reyes, and entrepreneur Ralph Yumul capped the Top 5 with net scores of 72, 74, and 74, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>The other 11 players that took part in the December Ace, with their net scores in parenthesis, are as follows: Rey Ferraz (75); Nono Bostre (76), Ted Malaran (77); William Retardo (78); Ed Cabotaje (78); Mando Guban (79); Alsree Chiong (80); Nestor Siruelo (81); Glenna Palacios (81); Greg De Torres (82); and Jess Yumul (87).<\/p>\n<p>Established in 1993, Fil-Taga\u2019s tournaments operate under a computer-controlled handicap system that creates parity among players in the A and B Flights. <\/p>\n<p>A Fil-Taga Ace of the Month champion is crowned monthly. Regular tournaments are scheduled once a month, normally every third Sunday.
