{"id":106979,"date":"2006-12-13T21:01:00","date_gmt":"2006-12-13T21:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/a9e118da-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2006-12-13T21:01:00","modified_gmt":"2006-12-13T21:01:00","slug":"a9e118eb-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/a9e118eb-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Not a penny went to Concorde\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Its Chinese workers paid recruitment fees to work at Concorde Garment Manufacturing Inc.  but not a penny of that fee went to Concorde, according to the company\u2019s legal counsel.<\/p>\n<p>Steve Pixley clarified yesterday that paying the recruitment fee is part of the overseas hiring process in China and is sanctioned by the Chinese government, which requires workers to go through its licensed recruiters.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat money was not paid to Concorde. It\u2019s paid directly to the recruiting agencies. Again, these are all licensed by the Chinese government.
