\"Satbahi-Blue\u00a0Satbahi-Blue Haus blew past Mobil, 78-64, after three neck-and-neck quarters in Wednesday’s Garapan Basketball League IT&E Cup opener held at the Garapan Basketball Court.<\/p>\n

Blue Haus broke into the win column on its third try and handed Mobil its third loss.<\/p>\n

Third time was the charm for Ol’Aces as well which capped their first win by outlasting still winless Andhok’s (0-3), 74-72, in the late game.<\/p>\n

In the curtain raiser, Satbahi and Mobil were deadlocked at 18-all after the opening period. Errol Peredo led Blue Haus with six markers, which was obliged by a late six-point string from Mobil’s Leo Factor.<\/p>\n

Both teams spread the ball around in the second quarter as the stalemate continued 35-all at halftime.<\/p>\n

Blue Haus nailed a couple of early 3-pointers after the break, but Mobil’s Bart Demapan delivered eight points in the third quarter to give his team a slim 54-53 edge heading into the final period.<\/p>\n

However, Blue Haus saved its best for last and broke open a 25-point performance in the clutch and ran away with it in the end.<\/p>\n

Seven Blue Haus players chipped in offensively and contained Mobil to just 10 points at crunch time.<\/p>\n

Blue Haus’ De Dios led the field with 16 points, while Mobil’s Factor and Juan Maratita managed 11 apiece.<\/p>\n

In the second game, Ol’Aces worked to an early 18-17 lead in the first quarter off a late five-point string by Peter Camacho.<\/p>\n

Andhok’s hung around, but Ol’Aces maintained a two-point lead, 38-36, at the pause.<\/p>\n

Ol’Aces’ Tony Diaz buried a couple of treys for 10 points in the second quarter, while center Jun Alipio managed nine markers to keep Andhok’s hot on the trail.<\/p>\n

Andhok’s regrouped after the break and grinded out a 56-51 advantage heading into the final period.<\/p>\n

Andhok’s Dexter Tenorio came off the bench and led the third quarter charge with seven points.<\/p>\n

Ol’Aces were held to just 13 points in the third quarter, five of which were canned at the stripe by Romeo Iginoef.<\/p>\n

Diaz then returned to the floor at the start of the fourth quarter and ignited a rally with seven points early in the period.<\/p>\n

Ol’Aces also stiffened up on defense in the crucial final quarter and although Andhok’s drained eight free throws, they came up a couple of baskets short of forcing overtime.<\/p>\n

Diaz led all scorers with 25 points, while Andhok’s Alex Lauron turned in 19 in the loss.
