The Department of Public Safety will deploy enough police officers to ensure the safety of worshippers in today\u2019s Good Friday\u2019s processions and trek to Mt. Tapochau.<\/p>\n
Sgt. Thomas Blas, the new DPS traffic commander, told the media yesterday that they will be prepositioning police officers in various locations leading to Mt. Tapochau early in the morning.<\/p>\n
Blas said the officers would control traffic and monitor access to the mountain\u2019s peak to make sure it is open to the public.<\/p>\n
He said the blessing of the cross will be at Mt. Carmel Church at 7am and will be followed with the procession to Mt. Tapochau.<\/p>\n
The traffic commander said the trek to the mountain will start at the bottom of the hill near the former Civil Defense Office. He said there would be medic stations along the way.<\/p>\n
\u201cTraffic officers will be posted on locations that are hazardous and areas that need to be controlled,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
At the same time, Blas said, the San Jose Church will have its own procession at 8am.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve got officers dedicated to monitor all these processions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
In the afternoon, there will be a procession at Sta. Remedios Church in Tanapag. In the evening, an expected procession will be held at Mt. Carmel in Chalan Kanoa.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
