A man tagged by authorities as one of the suppliers of crystal methamphetamine or \u201cice\u201d on Tinian has pleaded guilty.<\/p>\n
Zhan Dong Guo, 47, pleaded guilty to three counts of distribution of a controlled substance.<\/p>\n
U.S. District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Alex R. Munson accepted Guo\u2019s plea and ordered the U.S. Probation Office to submit to the court a pre-sentence investigation report on or before May 20, 2008.<\/p>\n
Munson set the sentencing for June 24, 2008 at 9am.<\/p>\n
The judge remanded Guo into police custody.<\/p>\n
According to the complaint filed by assistant U.S. attorney Craig Moore, Guo distributed \u201cice\u201d on Jan. 9 and 10, 2008.<\/p>\n
A Drug Enforcement Administration special agent stated in his report that on Jan. 9, detectives from the Department of Public Safety debriefed a confidential source regarding \u201cice\u201d traffickers on Tinian.<\/p>\n
The cource informed the agents that a certain Tony was distributing \u201cice\u201d at the Pacific Laundry in San Jose, Tinian. Authorities later identified Tony as defendant Guo.<\/p>\n
The same day, the police source and another undercover agent managed to buy $250 worth of \u201cice\u201d from Guo in the parking lot of J. J. Mart.<\/p>\n
The following day, Jan. 10, the same source and undercover agent purchased a total of $400 worth of \u201cice\u201d from Guo in two separate transactions inside a room at Pacific Laundry.<\/p>\n
The surveillance officers then entered the Pacific Laundry during the second transaction but the defendant allegedly struggled briefly before being overpowered. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
