The Division of Immigration has filed a deportation case against a Bangladeshi national who is allegedly an overstaying alien in the CNMI for more than a year now.<\/p>\n
With the filing of the case, Superior Court associate judge David A. Wiseman ordered Chandran U. Kandiah to appear in court on March 27 at 1:30pm to explain why he should not be deported from the CNMI.<\/p>\n
Immigration investigator Nicolas R. Reyes said that Kandiah\u2019s nonresident worker\u2019s entry permit issued July 10, 2006, already expired on Feb. 4, 2007.<\/p>\n
Reyes said the respondent did not file any labor case and was never issued any temporary work authorization to get a new job.<\/p>\n
The investigator said the Bangladeshi national failed to submit a new application for his nonresident worker\u2019s permit at the Department of Labor Processing Section.<\/p>\n
He said Kandiah also did not submit a nonresident worker\u2019s application for consensual transfer to another employer.<\/p>\n
