The House of Representatives recently approved a bill that included funding for the electrical system upgrade for the Tinian Junior and Senior High School, using money originally set aside for the Tinian Elementary School.<\/p>\n
H.B. 16-7, passed by the lower house on March 12, was introduced by Rep. Edwin P. Aldan.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe recent [completion] of additional classrooms and library at the Tinian Junior and Senior High School has resulted in an increase in the voltage requirements of the school. The Legislature finds that there is a resulting need to increase the capacity of the electrical system in order to accommodate the additional voltage requirements,\u201d read H.B. 16-7.<\/p>\n
A transformer and other related infrastructure needs to be purchased and installed and the Legislature has deemed it a priority to install such a system to prevent any disruption of classes that would result from an electrical systems breakdown.<\/p>\n
The amount of $1.2 million was earmarked for the electric system upgrade at the Tinian Junior and Senior High School as well as for various projects at the Tinian Elementary School under P.L. 12-69. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
