Trench Warz and Rites of Passage series organizer Cuki Alvarez recently went around three Saipan public schools to educate the kids about mixed martial arts and its positive influence on a person.<\/p>\n
Alvarez said Trench Tech is more than MMA as they also do their share in helping out the community by doing various projects that would benefit the people of Saipan.<\/p>\n
Alvarez recently participated in several reading programs at San Vicente Elementary School and served as a guest speaker at Oleai Elementary School and Hopwood Junior High School for their Leadership and Career Day last week.<\/p>\n
According to information provided by Alvarez\u2019s wife, Mari Palacios, her husband talked to the students and discouraged any type of fighting in schools. \u201cIt’s always awesome to share to the community. Trench Tech’s involvement with the youth whether educating the kids about [MMA].\u201d<\/p>\n
Alvarez, in another interview, said he met with all the kids and explained to them about the difference of MMA and fighting in schools, which he strongly disapproves.<\/p>\n
He added his visit to different schools is one of Trench Tech\u2019s ways of giving back to the community for their continued support. \u201cWe are always interested in helping schools that will invite us.\u201d<\/p>\n
Alvarez said they were also supposed to go at Marianas High School in November last year but the visit was cancelled since they were in the Philippines for Frank \u201cThe Crank\u201d Camacho\u2019s title defense against Caloy \u201cBad Boy\u201d Baduria, which the former eventually lost.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe spread and shared the news about MMA. Educating the kids and public what MMA is all about and keeps the fight inside the cage. We want to educate and enlighten the people on what martial arts is all about.\u201d<\/p>\n
Alvarez said they are trying their best to spread the positive side of MMA. \u201cWe are more than a bunch of tough guys inside the cage. MMA is more than fighting but also teaches discipline and determination, which is present in every form of martial arts.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
