The CNMI Teen Talk Youth Group is finally back on island after spending the weekend in Guam to participate in the 18th Annual Youth for Youth Conference. <\/p>\n
According to Teen Talk adviser and chaperone to this year\u2019s event, Sharleen Crisostimo, the students had loads of fun learning about topics on health and wellness, substance abuse prevention, conflict resolution and stress management. <\/p>\n
\u201cThese amazing students are great examples of leadership, service, and volunteerism,\u201d Crisostimo said. <\/p>\n
According to adult registration chair Athena Duenas, students who attended the conference learned how to use powerful influence and creativity to turn peer pressure from a negative into a positive.<\/p>\n
The conference also provided a clear message to teens, saying that it is their responsibility as teens to say \u201cno\u201d to drugs, tobacco, violence and other forms of negative behavior.<\/p>\n
Crisostimo said Teen Talk and their advisors would like to thank PTI for its donation of phone cards and support.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe would also like to thank the parents, school administrators, teachers, Division of Youth Services, and other members of the community for supporting Teen Talk. A big message of appreciation to the CNMI Public School System for the tremendous support they have given Teen Talk through the Youth Development Program,\u201d Crisostimo said. <\/p>\n
