(Contributed Photo)\" width=\"100\" height=\"67\" border=\"0\" \/>\u00a0Close to 200 Russians took part in the Orthodox New Year celebration at the Pacific Islands Club on Jan. 13, a record-breaking feat \u00a0according to web and Russian market marketing manager Elly Stoilova.<\/p>\n<p>Stoilova said Monday that they usually have between 140 to 160 guests. This year, though, they had 193 guests partying during the \u201cBack to the Future\u201d-themed event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost of the guests who came to the New Year&#8217;s Eve party also enjoyed our Russian Orthodox Christmas party,\u201d Stoilova told Saipan Tribune.<\/p>\n<p>The Christmas party, which was held on Jan. 7, also broke records with 230 guests who delighted in the festivity.<\/p>\n<p>Stoilova noted that their Russian guests planned in advance their holiday stay on island, which allowed them to enjoy the PIC parties.<\/p>\n<p>She said guests were delighted to see the venue which was adorned with futuristic props, including UFOs and time machines, with silver decors and lights to compliment the look.<\/p>\n<p>Stoilova said staff of PIC&#8217;s Food and Beverage, Engineering, Clubmates, and Sales departments completed the fantasy theme as they were clad in fantasy costumes like a Star Trek character getup, aliens, astronauts, and secret laboratory technician outfit.<\/p>\n<p>She also said that Russian celebrities MC Pospelov and DJ Rogozin provided entertainment at the party until after midnight before going to the airport to fly back to Russia.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMC Pospelov and DJ Rogozin also dressed as heroes from the movie \u201cBack to the Future\u201d and created a fun and exciting party atmosphere through various games and activities, songs, and dancing,\u201d added Stoilova.<\/p>\n<p>Bright, multicolored fireworks lit up the sky at 10pm to celebrate the coming of the New Year, said Stoilova, who pointed out that the fireworks were lit early so as not to disturb other hotel guests of different nationalities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAlthough it was New Year&#8217;s Eve, it was a celebration only for the Russian guests, and the Russian guests did understand that,\u201d explained Stoilova.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u00bb193 Russians join &#8216;Back to the Future&#8217;-themed event By Clarissa David Reporter \u00a0Close to 200&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-1239","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-local-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1239","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=1239"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/1239\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=1239"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=1239"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=1239"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
