The Korea Amateur Sports Association will hold its Saipan Cup 2008 tournament this weekend at the Oleai Sports Complex.<\/p>\n
Seven teams will duke it out in the one-day competition, which awards $100 and trophy to the champion team. Second place, meanwhile, takes home $50. Organizers will also hand out hardware for the most valuable player, most goals, best defender, most improved player, and sportsmanship.<\/p>\n
The seven teams that have signed up for the Saipan Cup 2008 tournament are Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino, Women\u2019s All-Stars, Inter-Godfather\u2019s, Multinational FC, FC Arirang, Onwell, and Independents Wild Bill\u2019s.<\/p>\n
The format of the tournament calls for winning teams to receive three points, teams ending up in a draw will have a point each, while losses account for zero points. Matches consist of 35-minute halves with a five-minute break in between.<\/p>\n
The first game at 8am will pit Inter-Godfather\u2019s against Onwell. It will be followed by the 9:20am match between FC Arirang and Multinatinal FC. The third game set at 10:40am will then have Onwell squaring off against Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino.<\/p>\n
Action continues at 12pm with Women\u2019s All-Stars taking on either Multinational FC or Onwell. The 1:20pm match will then have Inter-Godfather\u2019s going up against FC Arirang, followed by the 2:40pm game between Tinian Dynasty Hotel and Casino and Multinational FC.<\/p>\n
At 4pm, Women\u2019s All-Stars will tackle either of the four teams\u2014Inter-Godfather\u2019s, FC Arirang, Onwell, and Multinational FC.<\/p>\n
The championship will then be played at 5:20pm with the Top 2 teams after the eliminations playing for Saipan Cup \u201908 title. The awards ceremony will then immediately follow the conclusion of the championship match at around 6:30pm.<\/p>\n
