{"id":125036,"date":"2008-08-05T20:12:00","date_gmt":"2008-08-05T20:12:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/b0f067f7-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2008-08-05T20:12:00","modified_gmt":"2008-08-05T20:12:00","slug":"b0f06808-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/b0f06808-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Guam, Saipan musicians make history in China"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For the past several weeks, eight musicians from Saipan have been rehearsing with the Guam Territorial Band, to prepare for performances at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. <\/p>\n<p>On Sunday, the group finally had its first performance, playing music with the 2,008-member strong Olympic Orchestra made up of musicians from China, the United States, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and Guam.<\/p>\n<p>Sunday\u2019s performance was historic in that it was the first time foreigners performed at the iconic Tiananmen Square.
