Saipan Walking Association, Inc. will host the 7th Annual Foundation & Family Day Walk on Aug. 16 along the Saipan Beach Pathway.<\/p>\n
The walk will start from the Chamolinian Utt in Garapan and heads south toward the 10-kilometer turning point near Oleai Beach Bar and Grill in Oleai.<\/p>\n
Those who wish to take on the shorter course, can take the five-kilometer variety of the event, which turning point is at the Japanese Tank in the intersection of Beach Road and Quartermaster Road.<\/p>\n
Registration for the 7th Annual Foundation & Family Day Walk will begin promptly at 6am and registration is free. Those who want to buy SAIWAI\u2019s signature event T-shirts, they only need to fork out $8.<\/p>\n
A total of 30 walkers took part in last year\u2019s 6th Annual Foundation & Family Day Walk, which used the northern route that started from the Micro Beach Pavilion and had its turning point near the entrance to the Saipan Port.<\/p>\n
SAIWAI board member Mario Espeleta said although intermittent rain resulted in a low turnout last year, those that did show up were treated to a new course. <\/p>\n
The longer 10-kilometer course had its turning point near the road leading to Charlie Dock, while those opting for the shorter five-kilometer course turned around at the U.S. Army base.<\/p>\n
Like all SAIWAI activities, IVV members will receive credit for joining the 7th Annual Foundation & Family Day Walk.<\/p>\n
IVV has member walking clubs in the U.S., Canada, Brazil, Japan, South Korea, Turkey, Nepal, Australia, New Zealand, the CNMI, and 29 other European countries, including Germany.<\/p>\n
