{"id":125102,"date":"2008-08-07T22:06:00","date_gmt":"2008-08-07T22:06:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/b0ff5c48-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2008-08-07T22:06:00","modified_gmt":"2008-08-07T22:06:00","slug":"b0ff5c59-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/b0ff5c59-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Lia to make switch to off-guard in Guam"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The absence of Chelsea Ruluked will mean that CNMI Junior Women\u2019s Nationals starting point guard Li\u2019Amwar Rangamar will have to move to the shooting guard spot for the 2008 FIBA Oceania Youth Tournament in Guam.<\/p>\n<p>Women\u2019s national coach Elias Rangamar said that Ruluked\u2019s decision to move to the mainland has left a big gaping hole in the team\u2019s offense and one solution he sees is moving his daughter to the two spot.<\/p>\n<p>Rangamar said while Lia, as she is fondly called, is one of the junior women nationals\u2019 best ball-handler, the 5\u20193\u201d guard is also one of the team\u2019s more accurate shooters.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from Rangamar, others named to the team are 5\u20196\u201d guard\/forward Yvonne Bennett, 5\u20194\u201d forward Jenequa Benavente, 5\u20198\u201d center Dion Diaz, 5\u20196\u201d forward Noelle Calvo, 5\u20192\u201d guard Mercedes Mesa, 5\u20192\u201d guard Nicole Lebria, 5\u20196\u201d forward Blesee Sablan, 5\u20196\u201d forward Tanisha Masga, and 5\u20197\u201d center\/forward Jacquelin Wonenberg.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from the 10 players, Rangamar also chose five alternates for the team who can replace the regulars in case of injury or any other reason. They are Bennett\u2019s twin sister Yvette, Kaylani Lebria, Glorily Williams, Nikita Hofschneider, and Dayline Joseph.<\/p>\n<p>Assisting Elias Rangamar, who is also Basketball Association of the Northern Mariana Islands president, is Jose Tumaquip.
