{"id":125761,"date":"2008-08-30T21:51:00","date_gmt":"2008-08-30T21:51:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/b13bf0c4-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2008-08-30T21:51:00","modified_gmt":"2008-08-30T21:51:00","slug":"b13bf0d8-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/b13bf0d8-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"PIC Horseshoe tourney on Sept. 7"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2008 Pacific Islands Club Horseshoe Tournament returns for the ninth straight season when competition kicks off at 9am on Sept. 7 on the grounds of the San Antonio hotel.<\/p>\n<p>The annual one-day tournament, which will award cash prizes to the Top 3 pairs, will follow a random draw, doubles-team and double-elimination bracket format.<\/p>\n<p>The entrance fee for the tournament is $10 per person, which includes a one-day waterpark pass to all participants.<\/p>\n<p>Two yeas ago, Irma Halaby and Nick Gross bested a record-setting field of 33 other pairs to win the 2006 edition.<\/p>\n<p>Halaby and Gross breezed through the elimination round and the semifinals carrying over their momentum in the finals where they defeated the pair of Randy Steele and Skip Bull, 18-16.<\/p>\n<p>They won $202 with the victory, while Steele and Bull settled for the $100 runner-up prize.
