{"id":126029,"date":"2008-09-08T21:05:00","date_gmt":"2008-09-08T21:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/b156a1d5-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2008-09-08T21:05:00","modified_gmt":"2008-09-08T21:05:00","slug":"b156a1ee-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/b156a1ee-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Military care package drive launched"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A local organization is seeking the names and addresses of CNMI military men and women stationed around the world in order to send them care packages. <\/p>\n<p>Operation Home Front Support is beginning a drive to send care packages to all CNMI military men and women, said Geri Willis, program organizer and program director for CNMI Troops-to-Teachers. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cAny military off island are welcome,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s for all members of the military.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fred Camacho, co-organizer of Operation Home Front Support, said they hope to send the packages by the end of November, so the men and women can receive the packages in time for the holidays. <\/p>\n<p>Operation Home Front Support will begin collecting items Sept. 27, Camacho said. They are seeking canned food, drinks, snacks, as well as letters to the individual men and women. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe want to make sure that all of them get something,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n<p>When Camacho was deployed, he said receiving a personalized letter was very uplifting. <\/p>\n<p>There will be collection sites around the island, including sites at the Public Schools and fire stations to act as individual village sites.
