Dave Glenister. \u201cIt can be a big change for a city when a large army of people come to town.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Despite the rain, the crewmembers were able to scrape moss, and use weed eaters and machetes to landscape the park, he said.<br \/>\n\u201cThis site was chosen to do landscaping and try to get the park nice enough so people can actually use it as a park,\u201d Glenister added. <\/p>\n<p>He said the 215 crewmembers are spending their liberty week on island enjoying snorkeling, shopping, and playing golf.<br \/>\n\u201c[Golf] is always very popular,\u201d he added. <\/p>\n<p>Many of the members, including Glenister, enjoy the cultural aspect Saipan offers and will spend time visiting museums, he said. <\/p>\n<p>During lunch yesterday, Glenister and Saipan Mayor Juan Tudela presented each other with plaques of appreciation. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re very happy to be here,\u201d the commander said. \u201cIt\u2019s nice to see a little bit of America. The crew is very grateful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The USS Rentz is based in San Diego, Calif., and named after World War II Navy Chaplain George S.
