Manglona has imposed a one-year prison term on a man who was among the group that burglarized the Roshi\u2019s Department Store in Kagman and ransacked the establishment of a huge amount of clothing and other items worth $5,961.25.<\/p>\n<p>Manglona sentenced Roman Torres Cabrera Jr. to five years imprisonment, all suspended except for one year, with credit for time already served in jail from March 20, 2008.<\/p>\n<p>Cabrera, 41, is expected to complete the prison term no later than March 20, 2009.<\/p>\n<p>After completing his sentence, the defendant will be placed on four years of probation. <\/p>\n<p>Manglona ordered Cabrera to pay a $2,000 fine, $100 in court assessment fee, and $100 in annual probation service fee.<\/p>\n<p>The judge said the defendant shall pay his pro-rata share of the $5,961.25 in restitution to Roshi\u2019s Department Store for the stolen items and damaged bathroom window.<\/p>\n<p>She ordered the Office of Adult Probation to prepare a pre-sentence investigation report only as to the restitution amount.<\/p>\n<p>Manglona said the defendant shall perform 200 hours of community service.<\/p>\n<p>Cabrera was also directed to write a letter of apology to the store.<\/p>\n<p>Last March, the Attorney General\u2019s Office charged Cabrera and Julian Mu\u00f1a Sablan with burglary, theft, and criminal mischief.<\/p>\n<p>Cabrera entered a plea agreement with the government. He pleaded guilty to burglary. The remaining charges were dismissed.<\/p>\n<p>The plea agreement stated that on Feb. 28, 2008, the defendant burglarized Roshi\u2019s Department Store.<\/p>\n<p>According to the charging information, Cabrera and Mu\u00f1a broke into the store by damaging the bathroom window and frame. They then stole assorted merchandise.<\/p>\n<p>According to a police report, the burglary was discovered when the store manager reported to work in the morning of Feb. 28.<\/p>\n<p>Among the stolen items were several cartons and packs of cigarettes, a large amount of clothing, ball caps,  wristwatches, and other items.<\/p>\n<p>DPS later received a tip from a person as to who were responsible for the burglary.<\/p>\n<p>Police learned that aside from Cabrera and Sablan, there were three others involved, including two juveniles.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Superior Court Associate Judge Ramona V.
