Untalan told Saipan Tribune that alien workers live in the CNMI and that the disaster preparedness program is everybody\u2019s business.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy program is for everybody. It\u2019s everybody\u2019s concern,\u201d the chief planner said.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, over 50 alien workers\u2014mostly Filipinos\u2014participated in EMO\u2019s Multi-Cultural Day at the Multi-Purpose Center in Susupe as part of the Disaster Preparedness Month activities.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is just asking the community to come here. We made some presentations on epidemic flu, the police and fire did presentations on safety and preparedness. And we had our communication consultant talking about communication. We had the American Red Cross, and we also did our own presentation,\u201d Untalan said, referring to Sunday\u2019s presentation.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe message is this: Be prepared, get a kit, be informed and make a plan,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Untalan expressed appreciation to Philippine Consul General Wilfredo Maximo who cooperated with the program and brought in some members of the Filipino community.<\/p>\n
The Multi-Cultural Day was one of the many activities prepared by the Disaster Preparedness Month Committee.<\/p>\n
