King and Queen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Multi-titled keglers Robert Talavera and Yho Villaviciencio topped their respective divisions and shared the limelight in the September roll-off of the Budweiser King and Queen of the Lanes Bowling Tournament Monday night at the Saipan Bowling Center.<\/p>\n<p>Talavera leaned on his strong opening game on the way to winning the men\u2019s division by 91 pins over his closest pursuer Dannie Robles.<\/p>\n<p>The 38-year-old 2006 Bowler of the Year averaged 218 on Sunday as he came up with a monster score of 257 in the very first game.<\/p>\n<p>He followed that up with a 232 in second before slowing down a bit with rolls of 188 and 195 in the third and fourth games, enough to propel him for the win with his total of 872 pinfalls.<\/p>\n<p>In contrast, fellow perfect gamer Robles started slow but closed out strong to settle for second place with an average of 195.25.<\/p>\n<p>He had 189 in first game, 195 in the second, 156 in the third, and 241 in four and final game for a total of 781.<\/p>\n<p>Raymond Angeles failed to sustain a good opening game to place third with his 770 total pinfalls. He averaged 192.50, built around 248, 177, 160, and 185.<\/p>\n<p>Another perfect gamer, Richard Leong, came in fourth with his total of 756 with an average of 189 (189, 170, 184, and 213).<\/p>\n<p>Talavera pocketed the top prize of $100, Robles went home with $50, while Angeles and Leong won $30 and $15, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 27 players joined the men\u2019s division.<\/p>\n<p>Rounding out the Top 10 finishers for the men were Alex Cacdac (749), Raul Dumapit (740), Percy Omechelang (740), Raymond Tolentino (740), Rey Madrilejos (727) and Lito Teodoro (718).<\/p>\n<p>In the women\u2019s division, Villaviciencio towed the rest of the field with her total of 722, which was 23 pins more than second placer Lynn Teregoyo\u2019s score.<\/p>\n<p>Villaviciencio averaged 180.50 after a seesaw performance. She opened up with a 171, followed with 180, then tumbled with a 166 before finishing strong with a 205.<\/p>\n<p>Teregoyo had 171 in her first two games and she was on her way to winning the title after coming in with a 180 in the third game but collapsed with a 177 in the fourth for an average of 174.75.<\/p>\n<p>Ron Cal was third with her 692.
