{"id":126604,"date":"2008-09-26T21:30:00","date_gmt":"2008-09-26T21:30:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/b17eb039-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2008-09-26T21:30:00","modified_gmt":"2008-09-26T21:30:00","slug":"b17eb04a-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/b17eb04a-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Moment of truth for MMA fighters tonight"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It will be the moment of truth for mixed martial arts fighters at the Trench Tech Gym in Afetnas tonight.<\/p>\n<p>A total of 40 fighters will be featured in the Rites of Passage V: Raging Warriors, with over half of them seeing action for the first time inside the octagon cage. <\/p>\n<p>The pairings were still being finalized but promoter Justis \u201cCuki\u201d Alvarez said the event is definitely ready.<\/p>\n<p>However, there might be changes in the original parings that were released earlier.<\/p>\n<p>The tentative schedule for the total 20 bouts include the main event between Derick \u201cPinchi\u201d Rangamar of Marianas Elite and Chris \u201cNo Luv\u201d Laayug of Trench Tech in the 140-lb. weight class.<\/p>\n<p>Laayug has a slight edge with his 3-1 win-loss record while Rangamar (2-2) is aiming to pullout an upset.<\/p>\n<p>Jayson Teregoyo and Jerome Fujihara of Trench Tech will be debuting in their first cage fights against separate opponents in the 135-lb. division for the preliminary bout starting at 7pm.<\/p>\n<p>Teregoyo will face \u201cNo\u201d Angel Santos while Fujihara will test Gregory Camacho. Both Santos and Camacho have 0-1 records.<\/p>\n<p>In the 130-lb. bout, Roman \u201cBoom\u201d Alvarez of Trench Tech will also debut against Raegan Mality (0-1) of Team Pwang.<\/p>\n<p>In the 125 lbs., Jess Santos (0-1) of Team Predators takes on another newcomer Eric Torres of Trench Tech, while in the 135 lbs., Jerold Michael debuts against Alverick \u201cPretty Boy\u201d Alvarez (1-0) of Trench Tech.<\/p>\n<p>One of the most experienced fighters in the fold will be Shane \u201cPika Boo\u201d Alvarez of Trench Tech who has a clean 3-0 record.<\/p>\n<p>Pika Boo will be fighting at 130 lbs. against 133-pounder Sefich Lorenzo, who is also trying to gain experience.<\/p>\n<p>Another Trench Tech fighter with a lighter weight of 150 lbs. T.J. \u201cYing Yang\u201d Castro, who has a 1-0 record, will go up against a heavier opponent in 155-lb. newcomer Joe Cabrera.<\/p>\n<p>The heaviest weight class is 195 lbs. with Shawn Ogo of Team Haga meeting fellow newcomer V.J. Tenorio of Trench Tech<\/p>\n<p>Completing the tentative fight cards are the following:<\/p>\n<p>n Rayson Ray (0-1), 150 lbs. vs. Fal Arriola, D.A.T.
