More than 300 students at Grace Christian Academy showcased their school spirit last week through games, banners, clothing and a pep rally. <\/p>\n
\u201cIt really helps them feel like they belong. School is not just about studying,\u201d GCA Principal Faith Dela Rosa said of the weeklong events. <\/p>\n
This year\u2019s activities took place earlier in the year in an effort to build camaraderie, she said, adding that it also sets the tone for the year. The theme this year was connecting the head, heart and hands. <\/p>\n
\u201cSome people think being in a Christian school is not fun, but God is fun also,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n
Dela Rose said the school\u2019s Student Council planned the activities for the week. The Student Council officers are: Andrew Orsini, president; Monique Sablan, vice president; Keith Sablan, secretary; and James Sakamoto; treasurer. <\/p>\n
Each day last week students dressed up to match the day\u2019s theme: Monday was color-coordinated day; Tuesday was twins or triplets day; Wednesday was professional dress day; Thursday was wacky dress day; and Friday was class t-shirt day. <\/p>\n
Dela Rosa said the students have been preparing bulletin boards and banners in their classes, as well as developing a cheer to present at Friday\u2019s school pep rally. <\/p>\n
