{"id":126715,"date":"2008-09-30T21:44:00","date_gmt":"2008-09-30T21:44:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/b1967620-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2008-09-30T21:44:00","modified_gmt":"2008-09-30T21:44:00","slug":"b1967636-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/b1967636-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"LAPD detectives\u2019 arrival to pick up Miura may be known today"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The CNMI government has no information yet regarding the arrival date of the Los Angeles Police Department detectives who will pick up Kazuyoshi Miura from the Department of Corrections.<\/p>\n<p>A staff at the Attorney General\u2019s Office\u2019s Criminal Division told Saipan Tribune that acting chief prosecutor Jeffery Warfield Sr. had stated that as of yesterday he doesn\u2019t have information about the arrival of the LAPD detectives.<\/p>\n<p>The staff said Warfield hinted that the day of the arrival may be known today, Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Press secretary Charles Reyes Jr. said it was Sunday in L.A. when Miura withdrew his petition for a writ of habeas corpus. <\/p>\n<p>Reyes said the AGO just informed the L.A. District Attorney\u2019s Office yesterday about Miura\u2019s situation now on Saipan.<\/p>\n<p>After fighting his extradition to California for more than seven months, the 61-year-old Miura threw in the towel Monday, vowing to continue his fight in L.A.<\/p>\n<p>Attorney Bruce Berline, one of Miura\u2019s lawyers, informed the federal court that they want to withdraw the petition for habeas corpus.<\/p>\n<p>U.S. District Court for the NMI Chief Judge Alex R.
