Santos, 55, was arrested for theft by deception. A $25,000 cash bail was initially imposed for her temporary release, but the Superior Court allowed her last week to post a $100 cash bail and $900 in unsecured bond.<\/p>\n<p>Detective Melvin I. Monkeya stated in his report that Anwar Narul had filed a complaint against Santos at the Tinian Department of Public Safety on Oct. 8, 2008.<\/p>\n<p>According to the complainant, on Oct. 1, 2008, Santos went to the Mosque in Subdivision, saying she was selling her Toyota Camry for $5,000.<\/p>\n<p>Narul asked her to drop the price to $3,000 but Santos refused and left.<\/p>\n<p>Later that day, Narul received a call from a friend that Santos was waiting for him as she was willing to sell the car for $3,000.<\/p>\n<p>After test-driving the car, Narul handed over $2,950 in the presence of a witness to Santos, who gave him a $50 discount due to an engine problem.<\/p>\n<p>Inexplicably, the defendant later gave Narul a letter stating that if he could not come up with $2,550 on that day, she would take the car back.<\/p>\n<p>That same day, Santos allegedly took the car using a spare key. <\/p>\n<p>On Nov. 14, 2008, Santos allegedly sold the car again to Huang Shung Corp. for $3,000. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A woman was arrested for allegedly selling a car twice to two different buyers on Tinian.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-128465","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-local-news"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/128465","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=128465"}],"version-history":[{"count":0,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/128465\/revisions"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=128465"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=128465"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=128465"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
