Halaby topped five other aspirants in the first ever search for Beach Road Magazine\u2019s 2009 cover girl model.<\/p>\n<p>The monthly magazine\u2019s top executives announced the results of the model search during a simple ceremony yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Halaby garnered an average of 19.67 scores from the three judges that included Reina Camacho of the Division of Environmental Quality, photographer Hideo Honda and award-winning stylist Renren Santos.<\/p>\n<p>The other finalists were Cloven Rose Luna (first runner-up), Yvette Marie Deleon Guerrero Bennett (second runner-up), Leia St. Clair, May Manuel and Alma S. Manlulu.<\/p>\n<p>Manlulu was the only finalist who did not show up.<\/p>\n<p>Halaby is currently a commercial model for Cocoa Cola and Vitamin Water Drink.<\/p>\n<p>She said her favorite sport is volleyball and played for the Saipan International School varsity in her high school year.<\/p>\n<p>Halaby said she is extremely excited about topping the search.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cModeling is something that I\u2019ve always want to do. It\u2019s really a good idea for me to join,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>To become a model, she said \u201cyou must have a lot of confidence in yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The awarding ceremony was led by Glimpses of Guam executive vice president Stella Fong, BRM operations manager Virgie Avendano-Woodruff and account manager Susan Marchitti.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Melissa R.
