{"id":129073,"date":"2008-12-22T21:19:00","date_gmt":"2008-12-22T21:19:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/b2bd8da9-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2008-12-22T21:19:00","modified_gmt":"2008-12-22T21:19:00","slug":"b2bd8dba-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/b2bd8dba-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Felled power pole shuts down power islandwide"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The island experienced a 2.5-hour power outage yesterday due to a falling electric pole, according to the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. <\/p>\n<p>Preliminary information shows that an electric pole carrying primary lines in Kagman fell, which tripped Power Plant 1, 2, 4 and the Aggreko generators. <\/p>\n<p>The outage started around 11:30am and lasted until about 2 pm, according to CUC.<br \/>\nThe windy weather has been affecting the power lines, CUC said. <\/p>\n<p>The last unplanned islandwide outage was more than a month ago, when the transformer breaker at the Chalan Kiya\/Waterloo substation caused engine 8 at Power Plant 1 to fail, causing a chain reaction that brought down all the engines.
