{"id":129221,"date":"2008-12-29T21:33:00","date_gmt":"2008-12-29T21:33:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/b2e829d8-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2008-12-29T21:33:00","modified_gmt":"2008-12-29T21:33:00","slug":"b2e829e9-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/b2e829e9-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Police schedules three sobriety checkpoints on Dec. 31, Jan. 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Department of Public Safety Traffic Section announced yesterday that it would be putting up three sobriety checkpoints in designated areas on New Year\u2019s Eve.<\/p>\n<p>Police would be setting up the first checkpoint in front of the Multi-Purpose Building along Beach Road in Susupe from 7:30pm to 8:45pm for northbound motorists.<\/p>\n<p>The second setup would be also along Beach Road in Chalan Lau Lau located in front of the intersection of B&#038;R Auto Shop but this time for southbound motorists. The checkpoint would be from 10:30pm to 11:45pm.<\/p>\n<p>The third checkpoint would be along 2W Highway in Chalan Laulau in front of PTI (southbound outer lane). This will start at about 3am and will end at 4:15am.<\/p>\n<p>Each checkpoint would last at least one hour and 15 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>DPS said this is part of the 3D program, which attempts to deter and detect impaired driving and to ensure that all vehicle occupants are protected.<\/p>\n<p>Traffic officers would also be conducting highway criminal interdictions, saturation patrols, aggressive driver interdictions, and laser activities.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, contact Sgt.
