{"id":129253,"date":"2008-12-30T21:28:00","date_gmt":"2008-12-30T21:28:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/b2e8e906-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2008-12-30T21:28:00","modified_gmt":"2008-12-30T21:28:00","slug":"b2e8e916-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/b2e8e916-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Jordan Kosam elected RGA president"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Jordan Kosam was elected president of the Refalawasch Golf Association at the association\u2019s annual election of officers meeting last Dec. 7.<\/p>\n<p>The annual meeting was held in conjunction with the RGA Club Championship banquet at the Hyatt Regency Saipan\u2019s Kili Caf\u00e9. Kosam will serve until the 2009 annual meeting, December 2009.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is a tremendous honor to be elected by my peers as the new president. RGA has been an active golf club association in the CNMI fostering camaraderie among its members and other golf associations and at  the same time supporting communities and schools. I\u2019m looking forward to the responsibilities ahead of me in serving this great association. I plan to serve the club to the best of my abilities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Kosam extended his sincere appreciation to 2008 RGA president Adam Hardwicke for his generous support and contribution during his tenure. He also thanked Jess Wabol, Sonny Flores, Tony Rogolofoi, and the rest of RGA\u2019s members \u201cwho took the extra mile for the association to meet its annual objective. Spouses and family members for actively engaging and supporting during its monthly tournaments. It wouldn\u2019t have been made possible without all your support.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The current year also saw RGA hold the 2008 Memorial Classic, where $3,500 was raised and donated to Gregorio T. Camacho Elementary School.<\/p>\n<p>Aside from Kosam, also elected were vice president Manny Mangarero, secretary Tars Olopai, treasurer Sonny Flores, handicap chairman Tony Rogolofoi, tournament director Jess Wabol, membership chairman Juan Rebuenog, and public information officer Dewayne Stephen. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI would like to congratulate the new board elected by the association,\u201d said Kosam. \u201cRGA\u2019s 2009 goal is to continue promote and foster among the members a closer bond and fraternity for their joint and mutual benefit and to promote and conserve the best interest and true spirit of the game.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He added that RGA still recognizes the current economic situation, thus its annual membership fee will remain at $25. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe would like to encourage all former, present, and new members to once again take advantage of this reduce membership fee.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>RGA kicks off its 2009 calendar with its January Ace qualifier set on Jan. 17 at the Coral Ocean Point Golf Resort. Show time is at 11am and tee time is an hour later at 12pm.
