{"id":129334,"date":"2009-01-04T21:41:00","date_gmt":"2009-01-04T21:41:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/b304c8ed-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2009-01-04T21:41:00","modified_gmt":"2009-01-04T21:41:00","slug":"b304c900-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/b304c900-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"Murder suspect, another juvenile detainee, escape from detention, but later return"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two juvenile detainees, including one of the three suspects in the murder of a security guard at the Marianas High School, reportedly escaped from their detention cells at the Kagman Juvenile Detention Facility on New Year\u2019s Day, but returned later to the facility.<\/p>\n<p>Department of Public Safety Commissioner Santiago Tudela confirmed to Saipan Tribune that Edward Blas and another male juvenile escaped from the Juvenile Detention Facility on Thursday midnight.<\/p>\n<p>Tudela said initial report showed that Blas and the other juvenile went back to the detention facility the following morning apparently because they were hungry and thirsty.<\/p>\n<p>The commissioner said he had no information how the two managed to escape from the facility.<\/p>\n<p>Tudela said the Juvenile Detention is not under the jurisdiction of DPS.<\/p>\n<p>Blas is only 16 years old, but the Attorney General\u2019s Office charged him as an adult in connection with the murder of Efren Ballesteros.<\/p>\n<p>Blas and two other teenagers\u2014Eric Rabauliman and Randy Igisomare\u2014are being charged over the killing and robbing Ballesteros during a burglary at MHS in Susupe last Nov. 17 or 18.
