{"id":129390,"date":"2009-01-06T22:31:00","date_gmt":"2009-01-06T22:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/b3147639-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e"},"modified":"2009-01-06T22:31:00","modified_gmt":"2009-01-06T22:31:00","slug":"b3147652-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.saipantribune.com\/index.php\/b3147652-1dfb-11e4-aedf-250bc8c9958e\/","title":{"rendered":"55 drunk drivers arrested in Dec."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A total of 55 persons were arrested for drunk driving last December on Saipan, bringing the total number of DUI arrests in 2008 to 219.<\/p>\n<p>Department of Public Safety spokesperson Lei Ogumoro told Saipan Tribune yesterday that the checkpoints set up by DPS in December resulted in the arrest of five persons for drunk driving.<\/p>\n<p>Ogumoro said two other persons were arrested for DUI at checkpoints set up by the police on New Year\u2019s Day.<\/p>\n<p>Nine persons were killed in vehicular accidents on Saipan last year.
